Tis’ the season to be decadent. Everyone else may have hightailed it up the road to Noosa for the break, but if you’re sticking around this festive season Brisbane's has got your back. We’ve prepared a list of what's open in Brisbane over Christmas that are both naughty and nice, and we promise they will sleigh your celebrations.

Here's what's open in Brisbane this Christmas.

Riverbar and Kitchen

Brisbane CBD

If you need a bit of the ol' hair-of-the-dog that bit you, Riverbar and Kitchen is your go-to destination. It doesn’t get much more euphoric than a lychee mojito and the grilled swordfish and green mango salad accompanied by beautiful views over the Brown Snake. Open Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, they won’t let you down this festive season.

Olé Restaurant

Southbank

Forget your traditional ham and turkey and say Hola! to Olé’s Spanish-inspired dishes. Treat yourself to dinner and a beautiful light show as Southbank literally get’s lit for Christmas. Our recommendation? No matter how naughty your 2016 was, if you leave the feta-stuffed deep fried olives out for Santa, you definitely won’t wake up with coal come Christmas morning.

Balfour Kitchen

Don’t forget to toast them for their BYO Food rule! These legends are open Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve for all you whisky lovers out there.

Jellyfish

City

It wouldn’t be a Queensland Christmas without seafood! Or to describe our approach to eating this festive season; see food and eat it all. Jellyfish can fill even the most seasoned eater with their whole market fish with chilli, coconut and lime dressing. Open Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve for dinner.

If you’ve spent the last few Christmas Days slaving in a hot kitchen, lining up at the prawn trawlers at dawn, and trying oh-so hard to salvage a dry roast turkey (we’ve all been there), then perhaps it’s time for a change this year. Once you’ve emptied your stocking full of presents, you can venture out and fill up your belly with a glorious festive feast with all of the trimmings – all of the hard work is done for you, and you don’t even have to do the washing up. In the spirit of the season, here are a bunch of places on the Gold Coast where you can eat, drink and be merry on Christmas Day.
